A last-minute photography gig I have never been more excited for.

The Bariatric Ball allows people across the world to gather together to celebrate a similar journey. Bariatric surgeries have become increasingly popular and it's easy to see why. They change lives. Whether for medical reasons or personal ambitions, they have created happier and fuller lives for so many across the world.

Dancing the Night Away Event Photography

Gathering in Coventry, UK, I was given the amazing experience of capturing the celebration which went on until the early hours of the morning. Mostly women from the UK, it has even welcomed people as far as Australia. With over half a million people worldwide having these surgeries every year, the event held a fraction of those who would be celebrating their achievements.

The organisers who orchestrated this outstanding night worked tirelessly alongside normal busy lives to bring this event for the fourth time. Holding this time round in December, it tied in perfectly with early Christmas celebrations. Not only were guests dancing the night away on the LED dancefloor but they delighted in the 360 camera podium inside an inflatable igloo, the biggest balloon arch display with interactive mirror cameras, a doughnut wall, a bites buffet, a Ferraro Rocher spinning pyramid and more.

Strapped up with my cameras, I shot photos and videos throughout the night. A challenge to juggle both videography and photography I was able to prioritise those heartfelt, funny and also outrageous moments. At first hesitant to ask, once one guest did, others lined up beside the glistening Christmas tree for a personal mini photoshoot. Event Photography.

Photographing What's Special to Me

With glitzy gowns and tasty tuxedos, each guest shone as they posed for photos to celebrate their bodies with confidence. A cause close to home with multiple family and friends whose lives have been altered dramatically with these surgeries, I couldn’t be happier to share these moments with everyone throughout the night.
